Review panel

We invite expressions of interest to be involved in this review either as a review panel member or as a member of our email consultation network.

The review panel will meet face-to-face initially in June and July for development work and will likely need to reconvene for at least one further, one day, face-to-face meeting in September (post national consultation). There is also the possibility of several shorter meetings by teleconference or using Microsoft Teams, so access to appropriate equipment will be useful.

The review panel will be comprised of people who have:

  • expertise in teaching in Supported Learning
  • experience in assessment, design and moderation of Supported Learning unit standards
  • involvement in Supported Learning related projects, reviews and programme implementation
  • commitment to the use of unit standards as assessment tools in programmes
  • commitment to open communication, collaborative problem solving, and teamwork.

The panels will have balanced representation from across the community and education sector.

Members of the review panels will be paid a sitting fee, and travel and accommodation expenses will be met by NZQA.

Application to be a panel review member can be made by completing an application form (DOCX, 90KB) and sending it to by Monday 17 May 2021.

To gather your views on the standards, we are running a survey (DOCX, 20KB). Please complete the survey or forward your feedback on the Supported Learning unit standards to by Monday 31 May 2021.

Email consultation network

The email consultation network will receive updates on progress between meetings and be given opportunity to comment on issues and drafts of the unit standards prior to and post national consultation.

To join the email consultation network please email and confirm your interest.
