2018 – Review of Tikanga unit standards

In addressing issues identified during the review process, the Whakaruruhau recommended that four unit standards (6149, 16055, 16060 and 16067), which were deemed not fit for purpose, be expired.
2017 – Revision of Tikanga unit standards

These Tikanga unit standards were revised because of Assessment Support Material development. When these resources were being created, there was some ambiguity and inconsistencies identified in the standards. The Whakaruruhau decided to revise the standards and amended them to ensure that they are fit for purpose; and that their outcomes are achievable, coherent, and consistent with valid assessment practices.
2016 – Extension of expiry date of Tikanga Concepts unit standards

In 2015, MQS received a request that the last date for assessment against these unit standards be extended to enable completion of the National Certificate in Māori Management - Generic (Whakangahau ki Te Ao Māori – Workplace Practices) (Level 3) [Ref: 1432] past the end of 2015. The expiry dates for these two standards were extended until 31 December 2018.
2016 – Review of Tikanga unit standards

In addressing issues identified during the review process, the Whakaruruhau recommended that standards, which were no longer fit for purpose, be replaced. The Whakaruruhau also identified a number of standards that weren’t a good fit for the Tikanga subfield and have reclassified them to domains that are more appropriate for their content.

The Tikanga Concepts unit standards were looked at as part of their review cycle. The majority of the standards were reviewed and amended to ensure that they are relevant and fit for purpose, and that their outcomes are achievable, coherent, and consistent with valid assessment practices
2016 – Review and Rollover of Tikanga unit standards

The Tikanga unit standards were looked at as part of their review cycle. The majority of the standards were reviewed and amended to ensure that they are relevant and fit for purpose, and that their outcomes are achievable, coherent, and consistent with valid assessment practices. The remaining standards were rolled over to maintain their currency until they can be reviewed.
