Pacific Island Early Childhood Education (PIECE) unit standards

Expiry of Pacific Island Early Childhood Education (PIECE) unit standards

NZQA National Qualifications Services (NQS) reviewed 21 Pacific Islands Early Childhood Education (PIECE) unit standards in 2017. Further to consultation feedback (July 2017), NQS is expiring the following 21 Level 5 and 6 Pacific Islands Early Childhood Education (PIECE) unit standards.

The last date for assessment to take place is 31 December 2019.

These standards had not had results reported in the past five years, and it seemed unlikely that they would be required as assessment tools towards the new ECE qualifications or for another purpose. These are the only current standards in the six domains, as all other standards in these domains have expired.

A review of the remaining PIECE unit standards is scheduled for 2019.
