Typically, these people may come under the Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation) Act 2003, or its subsequent amendments, or the National Intellectual Disability Care Agency (NIDCA). People credited with this standard are able to describe: the reasons for and purpose of the Intellectual Disability (Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation) Act 2003; the person''s rights and the legal responsibilities of the support worker in the field of intellectual disability and high and complex needs; and legal services available to people, in a health or wellbeing setting.
