This unit standard is for supervisors with responsibility for workshop and site operations, preparation, personnel, equipment, inspection of products, and functions/activities within the fire protection industry such as installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of fire protection systems. They would typically have had training in workplace supervision and will have worked as a leading hand or in a similar role in the fire protection industry. People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare for fire protection industry jobs/operations as a supervisor; supervise personnel in the performance of fire protection industry jobs/operations; and inspect and document completion of jobs/operations.
