People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe actions to take in an equine emergency; act in the event of an emergency and provide assistance while veterinary treatment is being carried out; care for a convalescing horse as instructed by the veterinarian and describe the prescribed veterinary treatment, and management of proud flesh.
