People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: the components and function of horses' body systems; common problems that can occur in or on the body or body systems; the way in which microbes cause infectious diseases; the recognition and prevention of common bacterial diseases; the recognition and prevention of common viral conditions; and the immune system and the ways in which immunity is achieved.
