This unit standard is for people involved in a support role at urban structural collapse incidents. People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: urban search and rescue response structures, and safety and incident management; hazards associated with urban search and rescue operations; building construction methods and associated structural collapse patterns; and apply surface search and rescue techniques at urban search and rescue incidents.
