People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of health and safety issues relevant to the safe use of conventional spray-painting techniques; identify parts of conventional spray guns and their function and carry out routine maintenance on equipment used in spray painting; and prepare and apply surface coatings to wood products using conventional spray equipment.
