This unit standard is intended for people who are responsible for the operation of an aerial ropeway at an extractive site.
People credited with this unit standard are, at an extractive site, able to: demonstrate knowledge of the principles of operation of aerial ropeways and of safety procedures for operation of aerial ropeways; operate a coal in-feed; operate a ropeway to convey coal; operate a discharge station; and perform safety procedures for stockpiling and reclaiming.
