People credited with this unit standard are able to describe the requirements of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996 and relevant regulations as they apply to an approved handler for Class 1 substances, and describe the safety and protection procedures for handling Class 1 substances as an approved handler.
