This unit standard is for: operators and mechanics of industrial knitting machines; operators of sewing machines and/or automated process machines in workplace garment-assembly; supervisors of knitting and workplace garment-assembly processes; and personnel associated with the control of quality in any of the sectors of the knitting industry. People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of the range of knitted constructions, styles, and patterns produced in the workplace; demonstrate knowledge of knitting or workplace garment-assembly production orders and the fulfilment of specified quantities; and identify faults arising in knitted production and demonstrate knowledge of company fault reporting procedures.
