People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of the purpose of the chemical recovery process in the kraft cycle; explain the black liquor evaporation process; and demonstrate knowledge of the operating principles of a recovery boiler, and the recausticising process.
This unit standard aims to provide knowledge of the principles and equipment used in the recovery of chemicals in the kraft process.
