People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of hazards and safe work practices associated with maintaining and aligning bandsaw centre; clean bandsaw centre components and determine maintenance requirements; repair and replace bandsaw centre components; align and adjust bandsaw centre; test operation of bandsaw to confirm alignment is accurate; dress and re-set guides and explain the main function of guiding parts and materials; and calibrate milling machinery and explain the main function of tools and equipment used for calibration.
