Strategic Purpose Statement |
The New Zealand Certificate in Equine Dentistry L5 is an intermediate level qualification and leads to establishing a business in equine dentistry or working within an existing Equine Vet practice that wishes to offer equine dental services. On successful completion students will be awarded the New Zealand Certificate in Equine Dentistry L5. People who have achieved this qualification have demonstrated the skills, knowledge, and competence to undertake a range of equine dental techniques and to carry out specific duties of a professional equine dentist. Graduates can pursue further education opportunities such as IAED Basic Certification and Advanced Certification programmes; Joint BEVA / BVDA Advanced Theoretical Equine Dental Technician Course; BEVA / BVDA EDT Examination; a Veterinary Nursing Degree or Veterinary Degree at the Veterinary College or University of their choice.

Entry Requirements |
Entry Requirements for International Students Students must be a minimum of 18 years old and hold a valid visa. Students with English Language as a second language they must have competency in English to the required level for the qualification in which they intend to study i.e. IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 550 with TWE 4.0 and above for Level 5 programmes or qualifications, or the equivalent of NCEA level 2 (Year 12) English from their home country. Special admission may be granted to applicants (aged 20 and over) with no formal qualifications for enthusiastic and motivated students, or with evidence of relevant prior learning and experience. Students are expected to have a reasonable standard of fitness. Prospective students will be interviewed to assess whether they have the personal qualities and circumstances required to successfully undertake the course. Entry Requirements for Domestic Students Students must be at least 18 years old. Students must have NCEA L2 with a minimum of 7 credits in literacy and numeracy standards or the equivalent for Australian Citizens. Special admission may be granted to applicants (aged 20 and over) with no formal qualifications for enthusiastic and motivated students, or with evidence of relevant prior learning and experience. Students are expected to have a reasonable standard of fitness. Prospective students will be interviewed to assess whether they have the personal qualities and circumstances required to successfully undertake the course.
