Strategic Purpose Statement
This certificate recognises the knowledge and skills required to manage processing and sales in a retail meat business or retail meat department of a supermarket. People awarded this qualification are able to manage resources, supply, processing, quality, profits, occupational health and safety, hygiene, and customer service and sales.

The subfields and domains from which elective standards can be chosen provide the opportunity to recognise the skills relevant to candidates' goals and work contexts.

This qualification offers a range of elective standards, some of which can be used to meet the requirements of the National Certificate in Meat Retailing (Proficient) with optional strands in Boning; Curing, Smoking and Smallgoods; and Retailing [Ref: 0900], the National Certificate in Meat Retailing (Forecasting, Purchasing and Production) [Ref: 1213].

This certificate is a recognised progression for people who have been awarded the National Certificate in Meat Retailing (Forecasting, Purchasing and Production) [Ref: 1213].
