Strategic Purpose Statement |
The National Certificate in Concrete Production (Level 3) [Ref: 0731] is designed for people wishing to work in the concrete production industry. It also provides a means of recognising current competence for those already working in the industry.
The Compulsory section of the qualification recognises the core skills and knowledge required by industry for concrete producers, including detailed knowledge of hazard identification and safety, first aid, concrete industry practices, concrete materials, use and maintenance of equipment associated with concrete production, handling of orders and production of ready-mixed concrete and concrete testing. The Optional section offers the choice of standards covering confined space entry, which, while not compulsory for a qualified concrete producer, may be required in a candidate's individual workplace. The qualification builds on the underpinning knowledge and skills provided by the National Certificate in Concrete Core Skills (Level 2) [Ref: 1452], and shares common standards with other qualifications in the Concrete subfield at level 3 and above, allowing transferable skills to be recognised between sectors of the concrete industry. |
