Strategic Purpose Statement
To provide students with practical and theoretical skills, knowledge and competence in the oral art form of karanga to support whaanau, hapuu, iwi and other organisations appropriately in a variety of settings.
Graduate profile
On completion of the course learners will have intermediate levels of knowledge and skills to compose and perform the oral art of karanga to support whaanau, hapuu and iwi as well as other organisations appropriately in various situations. Holders of Poupou Karanga will be able to continue further studies at diploma or graduate level.
