Strategic Purpose Statement |
Graduates will have a sound theoretical basis in veterinary nursing, including the application of anatomy and physiology and will display capable practical patient care in anaesthesia, analgesia and pharmacology, diagnostics and inpatient along with surgical veterinary nursing. These skills will be supported by a positive and empowering attitude and a professional and informative rapport with clients during reception and outpatient clinic duties.

Entry Requirements |
Students must have reached the age of 17 prior to beginning the course; have completed Year 12 at secondary school level, with a minimum of 8 credits in NCEA Level 2 English. Preference is given to students who have a minimum of 8 credits in a NCEA Level 2 Science subject and Mathematics; have completed 8 credits in NCEA Level 2 English or in Sixth Form Certificate English or equivalent if a mature student; applicants will provide written evidence that they have spent at least one day in a veterinary clinic; prospective applicants will participate in a pre-enrolment interview.
