Strategic Purpose Statement |
On successful completion of the course graduates will have: the competence to continue to study towards higher level networking qualifications; the capacity to setup networks, implement routing protocols, troubleshoot network problems, access wide area networks, apply security controls to maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability and identify appropriate technologies and products to improve security which requires a wide range of technical or scholastic skills; the ability to employ suitable methods and measures to solve real life networking problems in the work environment by successfully troubleshooting organisation networks; developed a broad knowledge base with substantial depth in routing protocols, network switching and network troubleshooting.

Entry Requirements |
National Certificate in Computing (Level 6), or equivalent qualifications, or suitable industry experience, or satisfactory performance in a pre-enrolment knowledge test. International students require an IELTS overall band score of 6.0, or evidence of equivalent English language proficiency, and an appropriate NZIS student permit to study at Aronui Technical Training Centre. Students unable to provide evidence of the required English language proficiency may be required to sit an English language entrance test to confirm their English. If this is not up to the required standard they will be required to attend English language classes until their English reaches the required level. Access to a personal computer for off-campus learning is desirable.

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
