The compulsory section includes the skills related to livestock grazing management and feeding, livestock checking and handling, installation and dismantling of electric fences, and handling wire, tools and equipment for fencing.

There are 2 elective sections. Elective 1 is organised into sets and recognises the variations amongst farms in the use of agricultural vehicles such as tractors, motorcycles, All Terrain Vehicle Utilities (ATVU), and All Terrain Vehicles (ATV). Each set contains the prerequisite standards for practical tractor, motorcycle, ATVU, or ATV riding or driving.
