Strategic Purpose Statement |
This national certificate is designed for trainees who are employed in the pad printing sector of the print industry.
It was developed to cover an area of the print industry that has become more extensive. Pad Printing is used mainly for decorating products for many industries including medical, automotive, promotional, apparel, sports equipment and toys. A diverse range of substrates is printed using this method, including paper, board, plastic, metal, rubber, glass, ceramics, textiles, wood, and leather. This qualification consists of a compulsory set of standards for the base introductory pad printing qualification, and an optional Advanced Production strand. All candidates will complete the base qualification, and some will continue on to complete the Advanced Production strand. The introductory qualification covers general knowledge of pad printing, preparation of substrates, machine wash-up, make ready and print for single colour work. The advanced production strand covers colour and ink requirements for pad printing, make ready and print multi colour work, and problem solving in pad printing production. |
