Strategic Purpose Statement |
This qualification is for people who work, or intend to work, in the relocation operations industry. It recognises the knowledge and skills required to operate safely and competently within the industry. As well as the relocation operations standards, the qualification also includes standards relating to health and safety, customer service, and measurement.
The strands recognise the different skills required in the domestic and international relocation operations sectors. Candidates who operate only in the domestic or international relocation operations sectors can choose the corresponding strand relevant to their sector. Candidates for the Domestic Relocation Operations Strand have the option of completing either the domestic or international packing standard. This recognises that the packing skills for international relocations are readily transferable to the domestic sector and allows greater flexibility for candidates moving between the international relocation sector and the domestic relocation sector. The standards in the International Relocation Operations strand are compulsory as all candidates completing this strand should have the same range of skills and knowledge. This is a standalone qualification and is not designed to provide a pathway to any other qualification. However, candidates working in the industry who successfully complete this qualification and wish to further develop their skills and knowledge, perhaps as team leaders, could progress to a qualification outside the relocation operations sector such as the National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 3) [Ref: 0743]. |
