Strategic Purpose Statement |
The National Certificate in Wood Fibre Manufacturing (Pulp and Paper) (Level 3) with strands in Mechanical Pulping, Pulp and Paper Dry End, and Pulp and Paper Wet End [Ref: 1572], recognises the skills and knowledge required of operators in the pulp and paper industry.
The core compulsory section of this qualification recognises the fundamentals of process control techniques and the use of pumps and valves. The core elective section covers required knowledge in the pulp and paper manufacturing process, and principles of energy and chemistry used in the wood manufacturing industry. It also covers key operational skills used in the pulp and paper industry, as well as offering skills and knowledge that can be transferred into other manufacturing operations. The qualification's strands recognise the competencies required to work in a range of operational roles in: the preparation and treatment of mechanical pulp the preparation of fibre for paper making the drying and finishing of pulp and paper products. This qualification leads to the National Certificate in Wood Fibre Manufacturing (Pulp and Paper) (Level 4) with strands in Paper Making, and Mechanical Pulp Making [Ref: 1573]. |
