Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is to provide organisations with individuals who have the knowledge and skills to commission, understand and apply resource efficiency evaluations to improve productivity, and contribute to sustainable economic development.

Learners will benefit by having a qualification which recognises resource efficiency management skills and knowledge to enable improved job performance and a credential to enhance employment opportunities.

Organisations will benefit by having managers and supervisors with the skills and knowledge to successfully commission, understand and apply resource efficiency evaluations to improve productivity, and contribute to sustainable economic development.

This qualification is targeted at people working in management or supervisory roles with responsibility for decision-making for resource efficiency initiatives.

Graduates will be working in a management or supervisory capacity, and will be capable of commissioning, interpreting and using resource efficiency evaluations to improve productivity, and contribute to sustainable economic development within an organisation.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Apply resource efficiency principles, technologies and processes to scope requirements for resource efficiency audits and assessments, and commission appropriate resource efficiency practitioners to undertake them.
- Analyse the results and recommendations from audits and assessments and use them to determine a resource efficiency programme for an organisation
- Manage the implementation, integration and evaluation of the resource efficiency programme
Education pathways
This certificate can follow on from the New Zealand Certificate in Resource Efficiency Practice [Ref: 1920], or can be an entry point for qualifications in resource efficiency.

This certificate has some similarities with the New Zealand Diploma in Resource Efficiency [Ref: 1921]. It is also designed to complement business related qualifications.

Graduates of this qualification may also progress to higher education in resource efficiency science and/or management.

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
