Strategic Purpose Statement
The aim of the Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDipIT) is to produce IT graduates who are able to think critically and have a number of high level skills in IT field that can be applied in a wide range of situations.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology will have a proficiency of a body of knowledge, including an understanding of broad conceptual and theoretical elements, in a functional domain of Information and Communications Technology. This includes: A sound knowledge of the information technology environment and its effective management; The ability to analyse the needs of business and make recommendations for IT services and systems. The ability to advise on, develop and implement innovations leading to a more efficient use of resources within a dynamic information technology environment; The ability to relate to and communicate effectively with personnel and clients having diverse backgrounds; and, The motivation for continued learning and self-development to cope effectively with change. An understanding of the legal, regulatory and ethical frameworks of the IT sector.

Entry Requirements
Successful completion of a 3-year IT degree or equivalent qualification; OR Degree level graduates with a related degree who can demonstrate evidence of significant IT work and professional experience at degree level or above. These applicants will be required to participate in an interview.
Any applicant wishing to enrol in this programme who does not have a degree from an English speaking country is required to have attained an acceptable level of English language fluency. This may be demonstrated in a variety of ways, including successful study in English, approved scores on TOEFL or IELTS (6.5 Academic) tests or completion of accepted international equivalents
