Strategic Purpose Statement |
This programme is for learners who wish to advance their knowledge and practice in the areas of Cloud Technology and Virtualisation Systems at an expert level to engage in employment in the Information and Communication Technology sector of a growth economy. Completion of this programme will enable employers to be confident of a graduate's ability and expertise to carry out sophisticated implementation and operations involving Information and Communication Technology systems utilised at the forefront of business operations.

Graduate profile |
Graduates of this programme will achieve the Diploma in Cloud Technology (Level 7). They will have: upgraded their existing skills to meet the demands of growing Cloud based technology systems; developed ability in self-assessment, advanced problem-finding and problem-solving techniques; and demonstrated a high capability for professional conduct and effective communication. They will be able to: produce a high-level design that accounts for requirements for the private cloud environment; configure and deploy the application fabric; build the core components necessary for delivering services on the fabric; allocate resources to the private cloud and grant access to the private cloud; monitor the private cloud using Operations Manager and customize Operations Manager for a private cloud environment; analyse, configure, and integrate the core components of Service Manager into the private cloud fabric; configure a service catalogue, and then publish it to the Self-Service Portal; research the technicalities and operations to deploy and configure DPM in a private cloud; deploy and configure Microsoft System Center - Orchestrator in a private cloud, and then integrate it with other System Center components; configure the Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and deploy the AD FS services; dDeploy AD FS in a business-to-business federation scenario; plan and Implement backup and recovery strategy.

Entry Requirements |
Domestic and International students: Applicants must: have completed CompTIA, A+ and Network+ qualifications or Level 5 or 6 equivalents in IT related qualifications; OR hold a Bachelor level degree or equivalent Diploma in Computer Science or an IT related discipline; OR have completed more than two years industry experience in the IT sector in appropriate work-related disciplines to the field of study; OR be able to demonstrate competence equivalent to the above entry criteria which may be obtained through other appropriate qualifications. All other applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Proof of relevant experience and qualifications at appropriate levels will be required. All applicants require general computing experience using a Windows based computer. Applicants are strongly advised to have computer and internet access outside of the course. Students must also meet the course specific requirements which may include undertaking an entrance exam. Adult and Special Entry: Students who do not meet the above criteria may apply for adult or special entry where entry is based on work experience in the IT industry and aptitude in addition to academic qualities. International Students: In addition to the above requirements, international students must be 18 years or older and must have an overall IELTS band score (Academic) of no less than 6.0 (with no band score lower than 5.5), or a TOEFL score of no less than 550, or equivalent.
