Strategic Purpose Statement
This programme is for learners who wish to advance their knowledge and practice in the areas of Enterprise Networks, Messaging Solutions and Information Sharing Systems at an expert level to engage in employment in the Information and Communication Technology sector of a growth economy. Completion of this programme will enable employers to be confident of a graduate's ability and expertise to carry out sophisticated implementation and operations involving Information and Communication Technology systems utilised at the forefront of business operations
Graduate profile
Graduates of this programme will achieve the Diploma in Messaging and Information Sharing Systems (Level 7). They will have: upgraded their existing skills to meet the demands of growing Messaging and Information Sharing Systems; developed employability skills, ability in self-assessment, advanced problem-finding and problem-solving techniques; and demonstrated a high capability for professional conduct and effective communication. They will be able to: manage, optimize and troubleshoot system environments running on the Microsoft Windows operating system; analyse, plan and project manage the configuration, installation and complex operations of the entire messaging and sharing systems; install, deploy and configure the Microsoft Windows operating systems; install and deploy Exchange Server and Linux Server; analyse and configure the secure flow of messages between the Exchange Server organization and the Internet; plan and synthesise on-premises messaging system with Cloud based systems; design the integration of Exchange Server with the current infrastructure; plan and deploy messaging security; plan a disaster recovery solution in Exchange Server; analyse hardware requirements and plan for SharePoint implementation; administer SharePoint using the user interface, the command line, and Windows PowerShell; configure farms, servers, service applications, and Web applications; install the Hyper-V Server Role and configure host and virtual network settings; plan and implement session virtualization deployment and a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) based upon the Windows Server feature, Remote Desktop Services.

Entry Requirements
Domestic and International students: Applicants must: have completed CompTIA, A+ and Network+ qualifications or Level 5 or 6 equivalents in IT related qualifications; OR hold a Bachelor level degree or equivalent Diploma in Computer Science or an IT related discipline; OR have completed more than two years industry experience in the IT sector in appropriate work-related disciplines to the field of study; OR be able to demonstrate competence equivalent to the above entry criteria which may be obtained through other appropriate qualifications. All other applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Proof of relevant experience and qualifications at appropriate levels will be required. All applicants require general computing experience using a Windows based computer. Applicants are strongly advised to have computer and internet access outside of the course. Students must also meet the course specific requirements which may include undertaking an entrance exam. Adult and Special Entry: Students who do not meet the above criteria may apply for adult or special entry where entry is based on work experience in the IT industry and aptitude in addition to academic qualities. International Students: In addition to the above requirements, international students must be 18 years or older and must have an overall IELTS band score (Academic) of no less than 6.0 (with no band score lower than 5.5), or a TOEFL score of no less than 550, or equivalent.
