In this one year programme you will gain an understanding of the application of a wide range of skills in the use of physical activity in health and wellness.
Graduate profile
You will learn to create targeted exercise programmes and prescribe them to improve population health and wellness.

The programme will focus on how physical activity and associated disciplines, enables people to take control, and to improve, their health and wellness outcomes.

You will look at both individual behaviour as well as a wide range of social and environmental interventions in population health and will also gain knowledge of physical activity for special populations. The programme provides significant opportunity for applied research, research projects and work placements.

Entry Requirements
A Bachelor of Applied or Health Science or equivalent in any field excluding Physical Activity and Health Promotion or equivalent.

If your degree was completed more than five years ago you must also have current relevant work experience.
English Requirements
If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
