Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand with graduates who have a range of digital skills that can promote personal and organisational productivity in a range of industry sectors, and have the skills that align with professional standards.
This qualification may build on existing capability and can provide formal recognition of knowledge and skills of those already employed.
Graduates of this qualification will have a basis for further study, including in IT professional areas, and contribute to society by supporting digital proficiency and using their digital capability in a range of community and voluntary areas.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Use digital tools and techniques to create and manage information and content, and explore current and new technologies.
- Plan and develop a digital solution(s) to meet a specified brief.
- Apply security, compliance, and ethical practices to operate safely and legally in a digital environment.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with others in digital environments, using appropriate tools, techniques and behaviours.
- Manage own learning and work effectively in a digital context.
- Use problem solving strategies to troubleshoot and resolve common hardware and software problems, using known fixes, or escalate as required.

Level

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
