Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is to provide those who currently work in, or intend to work in, risk and/or compliance with skills and knowledge to support the operation of effective risk and compliance management.
This qualification is designed to maintain and/or improve proactive management of risk, compliance with relevant laws and codes, and decision making within an organisation.
Graduates will be able to work under supervision, guidance, and direction within established risk and compliance frameworks.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Operate with understanding of the principles of risk and compliance management and governance within an organisational-context.
- Contribute to the identification of risks and compliance obligations by conducting research and gathering information.
- Apply appropriate existing risk assessment criteria to rate organisational risks and compliance related-risks.
- Prioritise organisational risks and compliance-related risks for treatment using appropriate tools and considering an organisation's risk appetite and tolerance.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of treatment for organisational risks and compliance-related risks, including promotion of risk and compliance awareness and supporting risk and compliance training.
- Assist with risk and compliance reporting in a manner that is appropriate to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with the implementation of tests including reviewing actions and evaluating findings, and contribute to the development of recommendations for improvements.
Education pathways
Graduates of this qualification may pathway on to the New Zealand Certificate in Risk and Compliance (Level 6) [Ref: 3979].
Employment pathways
Graduates of this qualification may be qualified to work as a practitioner in the risk and compliance field.

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
