Strategic Purpose Statement
This qualification is for people who are experienced and competent in infrastructure works operations and may wish to begin a career pathway into supervision.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the infrastructure industry with people who have the knowledge, skills, and experience to effectively supervise day-to-day operations on a single infrastructure works site.

The role of an infrastructure works site supervisor is critical and utilises strong people management, organisational skills and technical knowledge and skills to ensure that all tasks on site are completed safely and to contract specifications.

Graduates of this qualification will be capable of implementing contract specifications for single site works on a range of dynamic and variable infrastructure works sites, taking responsibility for their own work and the performance of others.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Supervise the implementation of health, safety and environmental procedures for a single infrastructure works site.
- Lead a team and plan, coordinate and monitor work, and resources required for a single infrastructure works site.
- Execute contract requirements for a single infrastructure works site.
- Implement quality assurance and industry best practice for a single infrastructure works site.

- New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Bitumen Surfacing Construction) (Level 4) [Ref: 3775]
- New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure (Forestry Earthworks) (Level 4) [Ref: 3782]

Entry Requirements
It is recommended that those enrolling on programmes leading to this qualification are currently working in the infrastructure works industry and hold a Level 4 qualification in an infrastructure-relevant field, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
