Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is to provide experienced ayurvedic practitioners to the complementary health sector who are able to interpret and apply ayurvedic diagnostic and therapeutic principles to treat a wide range of disease states.

This qualification is suited to those looking to provide specialised ayurvedic healthcare and who wish to provide leadership in clinical practice and in the promotion of complementary health in the wider community.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Diagnose complex disease states using ayurvedic diagnostic principles.
- Create and evaluate healthcare strategies for clients using ayurvedic therapeutic principles.
- Prepare and dispense ayurvedic herbal formulations to manage client healthcare concerns.
- Provide and evaluate specialised ayurvedic remedial therapies to treat a range of disease states.
- Provide leadership to staff and clients through clinical practice and the wider community through the demonstration of ayurvedic principles in professional practice.

Graduates can build on from the New Zealand Diploma in Ayurvedic Health Management (Level 5) [Ref: 2983].

The diploma has no further direct educational pathways in New Zealand in relation to ayurvedic studies.
Employment pathways
