The Master of Professional Practice (with optional endorsements in Education and Leadership) provides graduates who will contribute advanced knowledge and scholarship, including a completed research project or thesis, applied to their professional practice context. It is designed for professionals seeking to advance their knowledge and skills. Graduates have built on their professional experience to gain internationally recognised knowledge and skills for career enhancement, capable to lead practice at an advanced, specialised level. Graduates have the capability to work effectively as leaders of interprofessional teams for the provision of high-quality services to diverse people and communities.
Graduate profile
The graduate will: 1. Demonstrate highly specialised professional knowledge for practice 2. Undertake research for best practice and innovation that promotes optimal outcomes within a professional context with available resources 3. Have highly specialised knowledge of contemporary interprofessional practice and the impact on service delivery 4. Propose forward-looking solutions for professional practice issues based on analysis of current trends 5. Critique, develop and apply policy1 at a strategic level 6. Have the ability to lead in complex professional, interprofessional and/or operational contexts 7. Have a critical awareness of own professional practice and leadership when working with diverse people and/or communities 8. Have the knowledge and skill to lead the implementation of culturally appropriate model(s) to specialised practice contexts.

Graduates of the Master of Professional Practice programme may apply for entry to doctoral programmes in New Zealand or overseas. Students enrolling in this programme may build on previous successful and related study at Level 8 such as a postgraduate certificate or diploma.

Entry Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a B grade average at Level 7 AND * Current or recent practice in a related professional field AND * International students: IELTS 7.0 Academic, with no band below 6.5, or equivalent Special entry may be granted to an applicant who does not meet all entry criteria, provided the Dean/Head of School is satisfied the applicant is capable of undertaking the course of study.

Credits
