Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the composite industry with people who have a basic knowledge, understanding, and practical ability in composites.

This qualification is for people entering or wishing to enter the composites industry.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to work in a range of supervised entry level composite roles.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Apply health and safety practices to ensure own safety and minimise potential hazards and environmental risk in a composite work place environment.
- Select and use a range of hand and power tools, simple plant and equipment relevant to common tasks in a composite industry.
- Follow standard processes or operating procedures to complete common construction and repair tasks in a composite work place environment.
- Apply knowledge of composite physical properties and composite technology relevant to common composite tasks.
- Apply knowledge of drawing and specifications to carry out measurements and calculation to determine material requirements, and cost of those materials for common composite tasks.
- Apply composites specific industry knowledge and terminology to communicate effectively; and behave in a professional manner with colleagues, managers, suppliers, and customers.

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
