Strategic Purpose Statement |
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the construction industry with commercially competent qualified roofers who are able to install, maintain, and repair roofing systems safely and in accordance with the Building Code and Building Act 2004.
The strands in this qualification recognise the skills and knowledge required to perform specific roofing installations. This qualification provides learners with an entry into the construction industry and is intended for candidates who are training in the workplace. This qualification reflects the skills and knowledge required to become a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) and recognises competencies to fulfil the requirements of the LBP rules. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of relevant legislation to meet roofing industry standards. - Plan cladding system installations to meet current roofing trade practice. - Monitor and maintain safe working and environmental practices in the workplace. - Work ethically and professionally within the building construction industry and maintain current trade practice. Graduates of the Concrete or Clay Tile Roof strand will also be able to: - Install, maintain, and repair concrete or clay tile roofing systems to meet current roofing trade practice. Graduates of the Liquid Roof Membrane Systems strand will also be able to: - Install, maintain, and repair liquid roof membrane systems to meet current roofing trade practice. Graduates of the Metal Tile Roof strand will also be able to: - Install, maintain, and repair metal tile roof systems to meet current roofing trade practice. Graduates of the Profiled Metal Roof and Wall Cladding strand will also be able to: - Install, maintain, and repair profile metal roof and wall cladding to meet current roofing trade practice. Graduates of the Shingle or Slate Roof strand will also be able to: - Installation, maintain, and repair shingle or slate roof systems to meet current roofing trade practice. Graduates of the Single Layer Roof Membrane Systems strand will also be able to: - Install, maintain, and repair single layer roof membrane systems to meet current roofing trade practice. Graduates of the Torch On Roof Membrane Systems strand will also be able to: - Install, maintain, and repair torch on roof membrane systems to meet current roofing trade practice. |
