Strategic Purpose Statement
In addition to meeting the approved Strategic Purpose Statement of the Master of Applied Practice , the MAP (Technological Futures) will enable professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs to lead their organisations (professions, industries and communities), to become highly responsive and adaptable in the context of emerging and disruptive technologies.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Master of Applied Practice (Technological Futures) will be able to: * Lead organisational change in the context of emerging and disruptive technologies by critically applying relevant advanced knowledge and collaborative skills. This is in addition to the Graduate Capabilities of the approved Master of Applied Practice, which are as follows: * Recognise, access and critically engage in available scholarship and advanced specialised knowledge to remain professionally current. * Engage in contextualised self-reflection on practice and recognise the potential to influence applied professional practice, through enhanced professional understanding underpinned by a kaupapa Māori philosophy with substantial and authentic engagement with the appropriate communities. * Working in the context of practice, improve communication across disciplines and cultures within changing environments. * Apply professionally relevant knowledge and, using evidence, innovate within practice. * Through leadership and collaboration, analyse, understand and propose potential solutions to complex professional challenges. * Anticipate communication challenges in context of practice and determine effective appropriate communication methods to disseminate to target audiences and relevant and contemporary professional practice techniques to the wider audience. * Plan, execute and complete novel applied practice research that informs and impacts practice, contributing to profession-relevant knowledge. Graduates completing a supervised Level 9 Research Project of 90 credits and above will also be able to: * Demonstrate a high order of skill in the planning, execution and completion of a piece of original research or other scholarly work to an internationally recognised standard.

Level

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
