Strategic Purpose Statement |
This qualification will provide New Zealand with graduates who have the skills and knowledge to deliver pre-designed exercise programmes to individuals.
Graduates will operate under broad guidance within a health and wellness framework with individuals, groups or communities. Graduates will contribute to the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand. Graduates will be eligible to register with the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Select a programme, from a range of approved pre-designed programmes, to match individual participant requirements. - Maintain participant safety in an exercise environment within own scope of practice and industry code of ethics. - Instruct and monitor a pre-designed exercise programme and maintain personal health and wellness levels to meet role and participant requirements. - Utilise knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to deliver pre-designed exercise programmes. |

Education pathways |
This qualification can provide a pathway to the New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 4) [Ref: 3563], or the New Zealand Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Programme Delivery) (Level 4) [Ref: 3573].
This qualification shares some common competencies with the New Zealand Certificate in Pre-choreographed Group Exercise (Level 3) [Ref: 3582] which may be used by learners to expand their skill and knowledge base. |
