Strategic Purpose Statement |
This qualification will provide Aotearoa New Zealand with graduates who have the skills and knowledge to deliver a pre-choreographed group exercise programme as a lead demonstrating instructor to groups.
Graduates will operate under broad guidance within a health and wellness framework with groups or communities. Graduates will be eligible to register with the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Deliver an industry approved pre-choreographed group exercise programme. - Facilitate and motivate pre-choreographed classes safely and effectively in a group exercise environment. - Apply knowledge of programme specific movements to guide participant performance in pre-choreographed group exercise classes. - Apply the code of ethics and health and safety practices to improve participant health and wellbeing in a group exercise environment. |

Education pathways |
This qualification can provide a pathway to the New Zealand Certificate in Freestyle Group Exercise (Level 4) [Ref: 3565], the New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 4) [Ref: 3563], or the New Zealand Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Programme Delivery) (Level 4) [Ref: 3573].
