Strategic Purpose Statement |
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the construction diving sector with graduates able to work in offshore construction diving roles.
Graduates who gain the appropriate Certificate of Competency will be able to work as offshore construction divers to depths of up to 50 metres. Graduates will be able work autonomously in a dive team and take some responsibility for the performance of others. |

Graduate profile |
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Carry out construction diving work using SSBA with chamber and surface decompressions to 50 metres. - Carry out wet bell diving operations including wet bell deployment and operation of wet bell diver supply panel for SSBA diving to 50 metres. - Use a hot water suit and operate surface hot water supply systems to 50 metres in construction diving work. - Operate a compression chamber and assist therapeutic recompression to support offshore diving to 50 metres. - Work effectively in all positions in a dive team to complete offshore construction diving operations. - Assess and manage advanced first aid and emergency medical situations for hyperbaric and other diving related injuries and emergencies. |

This qualification may lead to further higher level education in construction diving. |
