Strategic Purpose Statement |
The purpose of this qualification is to provide New Zealand organisations in the public and private sectors with people who take a client-centred case management approach.
Cases may involve personal, social and/or legal situations in a range of contexts and complexities and will involve working with a diverse range of people and relevant resources to promote quality outcomes. Graduates will be able to work with and support clients and other stakeholders throughout the duration of a case, within their delegated authority and the rules of their organisation or industry. |

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Use a range of high-level communication and interpersonal skills and strategies to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to provide services for a diverse range of clients. - Use self-management and organisational strategies to maintain personal safety and wellbeing, and build resilience. - Create an environment that facilitates collaboration and co-operation, and minimises conflict escalation, whilst addressing client circumstances, reactions, and emotions in an empathetic and professional way. - Evaluate and determine client needs and entitlements, and ensure these are balanced with wider business and stakeholder needs. - Manage and administer case files, and prioritise and plan work to efficiently deliver services to clients and stakeholders and ensure organisational and mandated requirements and timelines are met. - Apply a range of analytical and problem-solving skills to action solutions to complex case-related issues. - Provide information on and correctly apply legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to case circumstances. - Practice ethically and professionally in a case management role, in New Zealand's diverse, bi- and multicultural environment. |
