Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the New Zealand public sector with people who perform high quality service delivery, in compliance with public sector requirements, for a broad range of stakeholders.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to operate under broad guidance or supervision in a service delivery context and contribute to team performance
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in order to provide an effective service to a diverse range of people.
- Apply legislation in a range of circumstances in order to comply with public sector requirements.
- Manage information to comply with public sector requirements and build public trust.
- Utilise effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver services that meet the needs of the public.
- Apply time management and problem solving practices to foster positive and effective internal and external relationships and deliver effective service.
- Apply knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi in their role in order to promote a positive relationship between public sector services and Māori.
- Work ethically and effectively in a service delivery environment that meets the needs of the public.

Upon completion of this qualification, graduates may choose to specialise in technical qualification(s) in one or more of the following areas:
- Public sector with, for example, the New Zealand Certificate in Public Sector Management (Level 5) [Ref: 3638]
- Case management with, for example, the New Zealand Certificate in Case Management (Level 5) [Ref: 3630]
- Business
- Information and communication technology
- Health and safety.
Employment pathways

Level

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
