The aim of the Graduate Certificate is to enable students to develop essential skills in information design. The focus is on creating effective user-centred content relevant to an information driven age.

Graduates of this programme will be able to: 1. Write and edit technical and professional content using multiple media and formats. 2. Critically evaluate the principles of User Experience (UX) and apply appropriately. 3. Critically evaluate and apply visual design principles to create information products appropriate for end users. 4. Use research to inform the design of information and communicate it to diverse audiences.

Students who complete the Graduate Certificate will be able to continue study in the Graduate Diploma in Information Design and Management.

Entry Requirements |
*Academic
A Bachelor's degree. *Alternative Level 6 or 7 Diploma and relevant work and/or life experience (equivalent to a Bachelor's degree) or evidence of practical, professional or educational experience supporting their ability to work at this level. *English If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment. IELTS 6.5 Academic (no lower than 6.0 in any subtest). Note: IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form and are valid for two years from the date of the test. Students who have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills. *Admission Applicants who meet the requirements for admission are accepted into the programme in the order their applications are received. |

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
