Strategic Purpose Statement |
This qualification is for exclusive delivery in China. It will provide students with the skills and knowledge to work in the engineering sector of China or overseas countries.
The qualification will provide graduates who can operate in China as technicians, and apply theoretical and technical knowledge and skills to work in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering contexts. This qualification does not enable graduates to gain Associate Membership of Engineering New Zealand or to become a certified engineering technician in New Zealand. |

Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Apply technical competencies and ethical and professional standards required in the engineering industry. - Apply cultural, environmental and legislative frameworks that underpin the engineering industry. - Identify, evaluate and manage risks within well-defined engineering problems when working on engineering projects. - Work collaboratively within team environments to provide a comprehensive engineering service. Graduates of the Civil Engineering strand will also be able to: - Analyse and apply specialised civil engineering knowledge, theory, competencies and standards to solve well-defined engineering problems when working within the civil engineering sector. Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering strand will also be able to: - Analyse and apply specialised mechanical engineering knowledge, theory, competencies and standards to solve well-defined engineering problems when working within the mechanical engineering sector. Graduates of the Electrical Engineering strand will also be able to: - Analyse and apply specific electrical engineering knowledge, theory, competencies and standards to solve well-defined engineering problems when working within the electrical engineering sector. |

This qualification is primarily intended to be taught alongside a three-year Chinese engineering diploma.
This qualification may lead to higher level study. This qualification is not intended for use as a prerequisite, pathway or sub-set of the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering [Ref: 2612]. |
