Strategic Purpose Statement
The purpose of the qualification is to enable learners to gain a recognised qualification in Montessori pedagogy which will enable them to work in Montessori and other early childhood settings (3-6 years).
The qualification, as a Level 7 Diploma, is unique as such, in offering a Montessori specialism in early childhood education. Its strong applied focus ensures that learners will have the skills and knowledge to work as Montessori practitioners, both domestically and internationally.
The target groups for this programme are domestic and international students of 18 years and over who meet the necessary programme, regulatory and immigration requirements.
Graduate profile
Graduates will be able to: Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Montessori philosophy and practical teaching skills; Apply Montessori knowledge and teaching skills to design and use of Montessori materials; Observe, perform, reflect, critique and evaluate teaching in early childhood settings.
Education pathways
Graduates of the programme will be able to pathway to a Level 7 Graduate Diploma and so access post graduate early childhood qualifications.
Employment pathways

Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements The following general entry criteria will apply to all applicants: Intending students must: * Be at least 18 years of age prior to the commencement of their course * Successful completion of a Level 6 Diploma or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution * Successful compliance with a 'working with children' police vetting check It is recommended that intending students have observed a live Montessori classroom session in action. * NOTE: Special admission status may, in some circumstances, be granted to a limited number of applicants who do not have formal academic qualifications but who wish to be admitted on the basis of their relevant life/work experience. In such cases, an interview will be conducted with candidates seeking entry by this avenue by the Director of Training. International students applying for MMEF programmes must also meet the following criteria: * Produce evidence of having met the English language entry requirements of 7.0 in IELTS or another recognised English language test where English is not the applicant's first language. * Obtain the necessary immigration documentation (e.g. study visa) and medical and travel insurance before commencement of the programme. Applicants will be accepted without regard to race, colour, religion, gender, marital status, age or national origin as long as the above requirements are met. Entry criteria for courses will be clearly outlined in MMEF publicity material and on its website. Checks on the currency and accuracy of this material will be the responsibility of the Management Team.
