Strategic Purpose Statement |
This qualification provides a forward-looking, versatile programme of study for students who wish to enter New Zealand's creative industries, particularly in visual arts, digital design technologies, creative writing, music and other performing arts. The focus is on applied creativity in those fields, and the development of skills and knowledge that are valued both in a range of occupations and professions and in the wider community. The incorporation of inter-disciplinary studies and industry-focused or industry-based projects develops both specific skills in a discipline and also transferable skills needed for collaborative and entrepreneurial work. Students graduate with an expectation of ongoing change throughout their careers, and with the skills, attributes and capability to adapt to such changes.
