Strategic Purpose Statement
The NZQF Diploma in Interior Design is for exclusive delivery in China and provides an applied vocational qualification that enables graduates to apply theoretical and technical knowledge and skills in both residential and commercial interior design spaces.
The qualification will provide graduates who can operate in China as professional interior designers in residential and commercial projects.
Graduate profile
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:

- Work effectively within the relevant cultural and regulatory frameworks to ensure the generation of suitable interior design solutions.
- Apply specialised construction theory and practice and in-depth knowledge of products and materials to generate a range of design concepts from a client brief.
- Apply in-depth specialised technical and theoretical knowledge of building materials, processes, and regulatory requirements to facilitate a range of interior design projects.
- Implement viable and dynamic environmentally sustainable design concepts when exploring and analysing a range of interior design approaches, processes and solutions.
- Design viable and dynamic interior design solutions using suitable business practices and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to manage a dynamic interior design process.

Employment pathways

Entry Requirements
Candidates are required to: a. Be enrolled at Guizhou Light in the Diploma of Interior Design, and b. Have successfully completed a minimum of six months study in the Guizhou Light Diploma in Interior Design. Candidates are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.0 in the academic band, with no band score lower than 5.5.

Credits

The credit value relates to the size of the qualification. One credit equates to ten hours of learning. One year's full-time study at a provider is usually 120 credits, but if you are studying part-time or in the work place the credit value may vary.
