Strategic Purpose Statement |
The Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Transformation is a Level 8 programme of 60 credits, which enables students who have completed a Bachelor's Degree or similar, and are primarily the working adult career enhancer market, situated across all industries / sectors where digital disruption is in play (i.e. all industries and sectors in New Zealand/Aotearoa) to achieve a postgraduate level qualification that will equip the graduate with highly abstracted user-friendly digitization tools/technologies, processes and initiatives.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Transformation promotes preliminary development of skills in innovation and digital transformation initiatives through opportunities which extend undergraduate achievement, regardless of the discipline. The programme provides graduates with a comprehensive framework for constructive and functional applications of digital transformation and improvement within businesses. The programme enables people already working in a wide variety of roles to commence applied professional development related to their employment context and implement new technologies which change the way work is done, so organisations can grow and remain competitive over time. |

On successful completion of this qualification graduates will be able to:
1. Critically evaluate the purpose and function of emerging technologies that lead to digital transformation including the role that people, process, platforms and creative intelligence play as key transformation enablers. 2. Apply critical and creative thinking frameworks to review organisational capacity and readiness for interacting with contemporary digital environments. 3. Articulate a commitment to social justice and human rights through the development and implementation of human-centred design strategies 4. Critically analyse the integration of Matauranga Maori (kawa and tikanga), Maori ethics and the Treaty of Waitangi principles within the digital industry; and through industry and community engagement, critically evaluate Maori community acceptance of digital transformation, and Maori as digital transformation leaders. |

Education pathways |
Graduates who successfully complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Transformation wishing to pursue further study will be eligible to enter higher-level study (in particular, the Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Transformation and the Master of Digital Transformation).

Entry Requirements |
To enter the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Transformation, applicants must hold:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent level qualification Or - Graduate Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent Or - 3-4 years' professional experience in a relevant industry or community demonstrated through evidence showing abilities to perform at a postgraduate level or higher. All applicants need to provide a Personal Statement, written by the applicant, explaining why they believe they should study on the programme, their motivations and further career aspirations. All entry applications are assessed by the Programme Director and a personal interview may be requested if necessary |

To complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Transformation a student must successfully complete:
* Five common 10-credit courses (50 credits) * One elective 10-credit course (10 credits) for a total of 60 credits |
