Strategic Purpose Statement
The Postgraduate Diploma in Wine Business and Innovation is a Level 8 programme of 120 credits at levels 7 and 8, with at least 75 credits at level 8, which enables students who have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Viticulture, Wine Science or similar and/ or suitable work experience to achieve a postgraduate level qualification in the Wine Business and Innovation area.
The programme can be completed in 12 months full-time or up to four years part-time, depending on the student's previous study and experience, and specific course preferences. Students who initially enrolled in the Master's Degrees and are not in a position to complete it, can transfer applicable courses to the postgraduate diploma for the purposes of qualification completion.

* find and use information to extend research work and consolidate knowledge in wine industry practice
* apply business and/or management and /or technical research in industry

* effectively communicate business decisions and information both written and orally
* demonstrate understanding of communication issues across cultures within a wine industry context.

Entry Requirements
The academic entry requirement for the Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Wine Business and Innovation is one of the following:
* an NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) or
* at the Dean's discretion, where an applicant's situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above.
All applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. For international students, ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include the following:
* successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (subject to the conditions in EIT's Database for English Language Proficiency (DELP))
* completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 5 with any endorsement)
* IELTS Academic score of 6.5, with no band score lower than 6, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment
* accepted international equivalents to the above IELTS scores, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment (see equivalency tables in the DELP).

The Postgraduate Diploma consists of a total of 120 credits comprising eight courses at Level 8 completed over one year fulltime or four years part time: Must include at least 4 of the following 15 credit courses:
? WBI 8.100 Technology and Innovation in in the Wine Industry.
? WBI 8.200 Sustainability in the Wine Industry
? WBI 8.300 Global Wine Marketing
? WBI 8.400 Entrepreneurship in Wine Businesses
? WBI 8.500 Current Issues in the Global and Domestic Wine Industry
Plus either PGWIL8.100 Work Integrated Learning (Students working In Industry) (15 Credits)
Or
PGST8.100 Special Topic I (Students not in Industry in NZ) (15 Credits)
The other Level 8 credit being an online elective from either EIT Master of Applied Management, Master of Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Master of Digital Business (example 15 credit courses detailed above).
