Education pathways
The development of a Master's programme is currently under consideration by Te Wānanga Takiura and pathways from this programme to the potential Masters programme will be facilitated to enable Postgraduate study options and opportunities in the near future.
Employment pathways
Graduates of this Programme will be eligible for registration and provisional practicing certificate as qualified teachers for Māori Medium primary contexts.
Graduates will be qualified to work in a range of levels within Māori Medium education. Entry Requirements
The following criteria will be applied to determine an applicant's eligibility to enrol in the programme.
* Current or pending holders of a Limited Authority to Teach (LAT)
* 2 years consecutive experience in a Māori medium Level 1 (80%-100%) kura within the last 5 years or 2 years experience in a Māori medium kura below Level 1, but with demonstrable proficiency in te reo as a result of interview with the Kaitiaki Huhua that will occur in te reo Māori anake.
* A clean police vet and suitability under the Vulnerable Children's Act.
